Teacher Studio 2.0.8 Status Update

If you look through the list of known/reported bugs, you are aware that there were a few minor bugs that has been fixed. As these are not critical bugs, we will not release the 2.0.8 update until the end of this month. We will also be submitting the update to the Mac App Store, so the Mac App Store users will not see an update until first half of next month. Obviously, all of this could change if a critical bug (a bug that causes Teacher Studio to crash) is found and reported to us.

Please take the time to review the list of reported bugs to see if the bug you are experiencing has been reported. If not, please send us a bug report so that we can have it fixed for the next update.

Website Facelift

Although we love the previous look and feel, the last design was too limiting. It makes us feel claustrophobic, especially when we use the blog. This newest iteration of our website feels much smoother, even though it looks like tons of other websites out there. We hope you like the new site. If you find dead links or other bugs in this new design, please let us know. Winking

Edit 9/6: so, we are apparently learning about “responsive website” designs - no, not responsible website designs… “responsive” designs. Other than the front page of our site and the banner above, the rest of the pages are supposed to look good no matter what device you are viewing from. The text and graphics should adapt to your device’s screen resolution and should be readable without you have to zoom in/out. If you resize your web browser, the context should adapt to fit the new size. We are still having issues with the front/home page on iPhones, but for the most part, I think we succeeded. This was an experience in the category of “unnecessary frustrations” and we hope to never have to do it again.

TS 2.0.7 Released in MAS

We requested for an expedited/emergency review of Teacher Studio 2.0.7 and was approved “this one time.” As a result, after 5 days of expedited reviews, Teacher Studio 2.0.7 is finally available on the Mac App Store. Winking

TS 2.0.7 Released

Sorry for the rapid update releases folks. A user reported that one of the critical bugs we thought we fixed in version 2.0.6 was not fixed -- so here’s the fix (promise). Again, please download and manually update your copy of Teacher Studio to version 2.0.7 as it contains a critical bug fix. - Read more...

Manual Update to 2.0.6

It appears the auto-updater in Teacher Studio 2.0.5 is broken and you will have to manually download version 2.0.6 to do an update. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

TS 2.0.5 Released in MAS

We have just received word that Teacher Studio 2.0.5 has been accepted to the Mac App Store. If you currently don’t see it in the Mac App Store, please be patient as it is still being prepared by Apple to be listed.

TS 2 Data Importer Released

We have completed the work on the student data importer for Teacher Studio 2. Please note that this is BETA software and may not work correctly. Please try it out and let us know how it goes. Obviously, it would be best to test this on a new database.

Please visit our forum for information/instruction on how to format your CSV file correctly.

TS 2.0.6 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of Teacher Studio 2.0.6. This release fixes a number of critical bugs and some minor bugs, so please update your copy of Teacher Studio as soon as possible. As always, please report any bugs you may uncover in this version. Please visit our forums to see the change log.

Help Spread The Word

As we are nearing the finish line of our new website and Teacher Studio 2 rollout, we are now asking for your help to spread the word about Teacher Studio and about us. We have zero advertising budget, so we depend almost entirely on our users and customers to tell the world that we exist. We need your help and support to keep Teacher Studio going. If you like what we do, please spread the word. Tell your neighbors about us. Tell your friends. Tell your colleagues. Tell that stranger next to you. Write or blog about us on your social media sites. Tweet about us on Twitter. Do what it takes to help us grow so we can make Teacher Studio even better than it is today.

We also want to thank all of those who has shown their support by either purchasing a full-priced license (again) or an official upgrade license. You guys are the best!

Thank you,

Koua

TS 2.0.5 Submitted to MAS

Due to the serious bug that was fixed in version 2.0.5, we felt that releasing version 2.0.4 on the Mac App Store would not be in the best interest of our users. As a result, we have revoked the 2.0.4 submission and replaced it with the 2.0.5 version. Unfortunately, this means that we are now back at the very bottom of the review queue and it will take a little while longer for our Mac App Store users to get this new version. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Again, Mac App Store users should covert over to our regular version so you don’t have to being put on hold due to Apple’s incredibly inefficient review processes.

TS 2.0.5 Released

Teacher Studio 2.0.5 is now available for download. This update addresses a hard crash when users click on the last week of the current year or the first week of the next year using the date picker on the desktop module. There are also a few other important bug fixes included in this release. We strongly advise you to update your copy of Teacher Studio.

TS 2.0.4 Submitted to MAS

We have just submitted Teacher Studio 2.0.4 to the Apple Mac App Store for review. Now, we wait. If all goes well, our Mac App Store users will be able to get their hands on the latest version in about 2-3 weeks. It could take longer depending on how many people are ahead of us. In all honesty, if you are a Mac App Store user and don’t wish to convert to our regular version, the version we just submitted will probably be your last version of Teacher Studio. - Read more...

TS 2.0.4 Released

Due to the requirements of the Mac App Store, we were forced to change the Teacher Studio icon. The existing icon just simply isn’t large enough (must be 1024x1024 pixels) and our original art was never made for something that large. We also deliberately created the new icon to look the way it does so that we can apply the template to our other apps in the future. Besides the icon change, there are some minor bug fixes and UI tweaks. We also added a “live” certificate that is visible once you entered in your license key -- just for fun.

Plans for an iPad Version

We have received a lot of inquiries about an iOS (iPad) version of Teacher Studio. We would love to have an iPad version ourselves, as our Chief Architect is also a full-time teacher. From what we can tell, the tool that we used to make Teacher Studio is expecting to release their iOS framework this December. If they can meet their goals and deadlines, we plan to start developing an iPad version that will synchronize with our current desktop version (if our budget allows) -- in January 2014. If the development tool is ready for us by then, you can expect a shipping version by summer of 2014. We are very excited and can’t wait to start developing for the iPad.

TS 2.0.1 Released

Teacher Studio 2.0.1 (Build 4) has been released. This release resolves a few bugs that our users had discovered over the weekend and was kind enough to spend parts of their busy weekend sending in bug reports. Unfortunately, you will have to manually download and new version and overwrite the one you have now. Future updates will be handled through the “Check for Updates...” option under the File menu. - Read more...

How To Get Your New Key

A few users have written us saying that their e-mail address did not work when trying to get their new license key. Being that our system was written fairly quickly over the weekend, there were bound to be a bug or two. However, we did test the e-mail addresses that those users gave us and they worked just fine when we used them to generate the keys. Please make sure you follow the following steps:
  • Go to our the upgrade page
  • Select “Teacher Studio 1” from the dropdown menu
  • Enter your e-mail address
  • Check your e-mail for a verification key
  • Copy and paste (or type) the verification key into the “Verification Code” field and press the “Verify” button
  • You will then get another e-mail with your license key
It is important that you do not close your web browser or move on to another page/website. If you did, you will need to restart the process all over again. Also, the verification code field will only be visible once you entered in a authorized e-mail address. Please read your e-mails from the automated system as all of the instructions are contained with them.

Hello Hsuchi?

We recently sent out an e-mail to all of you let ting you know that Teacher Studio 2.0 was finally released. Apparently, we forgot to take out the test name “Hsuchi” from our new self-written CRM system, which is part of the automated system that allows you to get your new key. This has been corrected and future communications from us using our new system should be correct. Please accept my apologies for the confusion.

Welcome to Lomation 3.0

Welcome to our new website. This is our 3rd major website revision and we hope you like it. Our previous website was more of a concept website in that we were testing some new technologies to build it. We wanted to see if the tools we used to build that version of our website would be suitable for building web applications. Specifically, we were contemplating building a web version of Teacher Studio. A bad side effect of using these tools to build our website was that all of the HTML codes were hidden, all tucked away in some JavaScript files in a black hole somewhere.

This makes it impossible for search engines like Google to crawl through out website and rank our website. This new version uses standard technologies, so we hope to be on all of the search engines radar again soon. Of course, other major motivation was the release of Teacher Studio 2.0 -- a project that took us nearly 2 years to complete.

Welcome, and enjoy the new site.
